Our strength comes from balance. With my wife’s business background and my hands-on experience leading a team with over 30 years of combined industry knowledge, we bring both organization and craftsmanship to every project. We know how to plan, communicate, and execute work the right way.

Our Story
This didn’t start polished — it started with showing up and figuring it out.
Zona Tile & Construction is rooted in something real. In 2019, Mike came into Blake’s life and changed everything—teaching him the trades from the ground up: tile, labor, artistry, and true work ethic. Mike had spent over 20 years running his own operation in Tucson before moving to Chicago for a fresh perspective on the industry. At one point, Blake was flying back and forth from Tucson just to work alongside him—at a time he needed that guidance the most.
For 6 years, Blake became Mike’s right-hand man, learning not just how to do the work, but how to create one of a kind artistry. By 2025, that foundation turned into something bigger—a vision to build a company rooted in strong morals, quality craftsmanship, and genuine relationships, with his very first goal in mind: to retire Mike.
Today, our family is putting in the hours—serving luxury clients, friends, family, designers, realtors, and property managers; growing through word of mouth and the connections we’ve built along the way. As young leaders with faith, grit, and a clear vision, we’re building toward our ultimate goal: creating custom homes, telling our story through our work and leaving a family legacy we’re proud of.
